LaShonda Lawrence Kennedy, M.Ed.
Originally from coastal North Carolina, LaShonda received her undergraduate degree in Communications, and her Master’s degree in Education from Wake Forest University. She is the principal consultant at Catalyst Collaborative Inc. Throughout her career, LaShonda has focused her passion for community engagement by serving on multiple boards and non-profit committees both locally, nationally and internationally.
Her love of service has led her to many state Capitols as well as Washington D.C. to advocate on behalf of the communities she serves. LaShonda is a longtime American Heart Association volunteer and advocate. She has served as a Grassroots Advocacy Team Chair and is a past Chair of the Iowa City Go Red for Women Luncheon. LaShonda is a board member of the African American Museum of Iowa and The Iowa Women’s Foundation. She is also a member of the Association of Junior Leagues International Governance Committee and the Corporate Roundtable Board of the National Black Caucus of State Legislators.
